Obituary for Christina Umstead

Christina  Umstead
Christina Marie Umstead, age 30, died peacefully in her sleep on June 23, 2017, at the Samaritan Hospice at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mount Holly, NJ of Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia.

Christina was born on January 4, 1987, in Voorhees, NJ with multiple developmental disabilities. Despite these difficulties, she went on to graduate from Archway School and Barnegat High School in 2006. She was a happy soul who loved scrapbooking, horseback riding and her family. She will be sorely missed.

She was preceded in death by her father, William K. Umstead; grandfather Horace B. Umstead; grandmother Elizabeth S. Umstead (nee Stewart); and grandfather Richard G. Martin, Sr.

She is survived by her mother, Connie M. Walsh (nee Martin); stepfather David E. Walsh; sister Karen E. (Richard) Yosmanovitch (nee Umstead); brother Frederick C. (Darcy) Umstead; stepsister Deborah A. (Rudy) Grimm (nee Walsh); grandmother Ida M. Martin (nee Howell); and many family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at the Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield, NJ on Tuesday, June 27th at 11:00 am, where friends may call from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to Samaritan Hospice of Mount Holly, NJ and/or Autism New Jersey of Robbinsville, NJ.

The family wishes to thank all persons and organizations that helped care for Christina over the years.
