Oreus-Doriston, Marie “Maryse” Denise - 58 of Northfield, was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on October 25, 2015.

Marie was born in Gros Mornes, Gonayve, Haiti on May 16, 1957. Marie moved from Haiti to Martinque, where she met her husband, Joseph Gabriel Doriston. Marie and Joseph moved to the United States in 1978 to start a family. Marie graduated from Hudson County Vocational School as a Certified Nurse Assistant. She worked as a CNA for over 20 years. Family, friends, and colleagues knew Marie for her homemaker skills. Many called her the "Haitian Martha Stewart”. Marie loved to cook, sew, knit, garden, decorate, and create beautiful things with her hands. Marie was also known for her beautiful, inviting smile. She was also a member of L’Eglise Bethel Assemblee Chretienne.

Marie was predeceased by her parents, Mirelle and Joseph Oreus; and her husband Joseph Doriston. She is survived by her children, Jose and Marlie Doriston; her brother Marc-Arnold Oreus, and his children Steve and Jennifer Oreus; and numerous cousins. Marie will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

A visitation is scheduled from 9:00am until 11:00am on Saturday, October 31st at L’Eglise Bethel Assemblee Chretienne, 250 W. White Horse Pike, Galloway. The funeral will take place at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312 and/or L’Eglise Bethel Assemblee Chretienne.
