Obituary for Helen D. Wood (Loveland)

Helen D.  Wood (Loveland)
Wood, Helen Delores (nee Loveland) - 78, was surrounded by family when she went home to be with Jesus on September 27, 2017.

Helen was born at home in Port Republic to her wonderful parents, Arthur and Alberta Loveland. She went to school in our little one room school house in Port Republic,then to high school in Pleasantville. She married and had three beautiful children. Helen moved to Florida where she enjoyed the tropics, growing her flowers, activities at the club house, and her many friends, including her sister, Betty, who lives in Plantation, FL. Helen became ill with Alzheimer’s and went to live with her daughter, Denise, in New Jersey. She later resided at Meadowview Rehab and Nursing Home in Northfield, where she was made very comfortable by her caregivers and staff. She made friends will all the residents – everybody loved her, especially with her forever smile. She was always cared for by one of her adoring family members, especially her granddaughter, Laurie “Muffin”, who loved her Grammie very much. Even her fur grandbaby, Savannah, came on weekends to cheer them all up.

Helen was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Alberta Loveland; and her sister, Flora “Flo” Ann. She is survived by her daughters, Denise Wellman (Chris) of Egg Harbor Twp., and Linda Lee Swenson of Little River, SC; her son, Ralph Wood (Maria), AKA "The Golden Child", of Egg Harbor Twp.; her sister, Betty Ervin (Bill) of Plantation, FL; her grandchildren, Suzanne, Laurie, Danny, Andrew, Taylor, Johnny, Lacey, and Sierra; and her great grandchildren, Tommy, Maddox, Alexa, Luke, Rayne, Lil’ Johnny, Ariana, and Noah.

A funeral service for Helen will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 2:00pm at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 118 Main Street, Port Republic. A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, next to her parents and sister.
