Obituary for Doris E. Bona (Wormell)
Bona, Doris E. - 76 of Ocean City, formerly of Little Egg Harbor and Egg Harbor Township, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017.
Born and raised in Dover Plains, NY, Doris lived in Egg Harbor Township for 40 years before moving to Little Egg Harbor in 2004.
Doris was a graduate of Dover Plains High School and The State University of New York at Cobleskill. She was a former pre-k teacher, having taught at Apple Acres in EHT for many years. Doris enjoyed traveling, was a devoted mother, and loved being a grandmother above all else.
She was predeceased by her husband, Louis J. Bona; her parents, Horace and Jane Wormell; and her brother, Bill. She is survived by her children, Louie Bona of Austin, TX, Lori Searle (Jim) of Egg Harbor Twp., and Stephen Bona of Manahawkin; her beloved grandchildren: Nicole, Jimmy, Joey, and Katie Fandozzi; her brother, Douglas; and her niece and several nephews.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 5-7pm at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 11:00am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 724 Maple Avenue, Linwood. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
