Frederick Joseph  Ellenberg
Frederick J. Ellenberg, "Fred" 83, of Linwood, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017.
Raised in Pleasantville, Fred was a graduate of St. Peter's and Holy Spirit High School. He was an employee of Atlantic City Electric for 41 years, retiring as a District Supervisor of Pleasantville Operations. During the Korean War, Fred served in the United States Navy.
His favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing, trap shooting, and gardening. He was also well-known for his work with wood, including caricatures, carved and painted beautiful decoys and many creative hardwood boxes.
He was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Mae Ellenberg, his sisters; Mary Jane Collins and Ruth Christensen, and his dear son, Matthew.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Lee, his son, Fred (Sue), his daughter, Christine Mancuso (Jerry), daughter, Teri Smith (Tom), daughter, Jennifer Bergen (Scott), grandchildren; Rick Smith, Danielle Smith, Evanne Ellenberg, Taylor Lanxon and Sydney Lanxon and great granddaughter, MacKenzie Smith, sister Susan Kurtz (Art). He will be well-remembered for being so dedicated to family, with Love.
A Gathering with the family will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 6-8pm at the Adams-Perfect Funeral Home 1650 New Road, Northfield. Another gathering will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 9:30-10:30 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Wabash and Poplar Avenues, Linwood, NJ . A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30am. Burial will be held at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, Estell Manor, NJ 08319.
Donations may be made in Fred's memory to either the American Heart Association 1 Union St #301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691 or to the St. Jude's Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
