Birts, Kia 54 went to be with the Lord on April 28, 2017 unexpectedly. Born in Atlantic City on November 2, 1962. She moved to Pleasantville at the age of 3 years old, and attended Pleasantville School System. She graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1981. During her senior year she attended the Atlantic County Vocational School and completed the date entry program where she received the "Most Improved Award" for the semester. Kia worked at various auto dealerships in the area such as McCarthy Ford as a computer/office worker, Chapman Ford as a warranty clerk, and finally at Ruffu Ford as the office manager. She also worked in several casinos at various positions such as Tropicana, Harrah's, Trump Plaza, and Trump Taj Mahal. Kia was an avid reader and enjoyed making crafts. She loved gifting her crocheted afghans to friends and family. She was a member of Praise Tabernacle Church in Egg Harbor Township where she was a Sunday school teacher and a participant in Vacation Bible School. She had a great rapport with children. Kia was predeceased by her parents; Cynthia and Harold Birts, and her grandparents; Pauline and Warren C. Cornelius. She is survived by her two brothers; Harold (Lorena) F. Birts of Hampton, VA., and Warren Birts of Pleasantville, her sister, Michelle Birts of Pleasantville, her nephew, Gerald (Cebrina) Birts and their children of Hampton, VA, her nieces; Toneshia Birts of Hampton, VA, and Tiffany Birts of Richmond, VA, two uncles; Ronald (Barbara) Cornelius of Columbus, OH, Robert (Bernice) Birts of Hempstead, NY, three aunts; Vera Dennis of Jacksonville, FL, Deborah Birts of Pleasantville, and Delores Birts Forbes of Madison, AL, and a host of cousins and friends.
A Gathering with the family will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 12pm til 2pm at the Praise Tabernacle Church 2235 Ocean Heights Avenue, Egg Harbor Township for those who will not be able to attend the graveside service.
On Tuesday, May 9th the family will be gathering at 10:15am at the Adams-Perfect Funeral Home 1650 New Road, Northfield to form a procession to go to the Graveside Service and Interment which will be held at 11am at the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Black Horse Pike, Egg Harbor Township.
