Dodd, Marie (Gale) “ReRe” of Somers Point - heaven gained another angel on May 22, 2017 when Marie passed after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Atlantic City, NJ, the daughter of the late Charles R. Gale and Mary (Jannelli) – beloved wife of John “Larry”, mother to Karyn Harlan and John “Larry” Dodd Jr with wife Carolyn. Grandmother to Lauryn, Zachary, Kayla, Tyler, Ava, Nicholas. Great Grandmother to Aubrey, Brielle, Cassidy and sister to Edward A. Gale.
Marie was very active in her community, when her kids were young she served on the PTA, cheerleading coach for the Somers Point Sharks, Brownie and Cub-Scout leader. Marie Retired from Spencer Gifts in Egg Harbor Township in 2015.
Pre-deceased by her brother Charles and sister-in-law Edith, brother Jack and sister-in-law Marie and survived by her loving husband John “Larry”, her daughter Karyn and son John “Larry” Jr., six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends.
A viewing will be held on Friday, May 26th from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 27th at 10:00am at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 606 Shore Road, Somers Point. Interment will follow in Miller Cemetery, New Gretna.
Donations may be made in Marie's honor to the Holy Spirit High School class of 1961. This donation will offer tuition assistance to a Holy Spirit student in Marie’s memory. Donations can be made to: Holy Spirit HS, 500 South New Road, Developmental Dept., Attn: Debbie. Absecon, NJ 08201.
