To Jenny, Jess, Jenna, Amy & Erin: Nothing can remove the hurt you are feeling right now but you have many friends and family who are ready to step in with what you need. I love you soooo much! To all of Fred's friends and his Fireman family: This could not have been done without the help of all of you. You have been that person everyone hopes they have in times of need. You have a special place in my heart for what you have done to help and big hugs to all.

I can not express my sorrow in words. I want you to know that Mr. Nickles was an amazing man who has helped me out and has had a major impact in my life. He probably had no idea how he has impacted me in both high school and in employment mainly because that was just the person he was always willing to help and never sweating the small stuff. Rest well sir you will surely be missed.

Amy and Erin, please know my arms are around you now and always. I'm so sorry for your loss. Your dad's smile lit up a room, and I will remember his laugh and his generosity forever. He touched so many lives! And he was always your biggest fan. Mr. Nickles is at peace now, and I continue to pray that you and your family will find peace and comfort in happy memories eventually, too. xoxo

He touched so many lives! And he never met a stranger, did he? Fred was one of the finest men I have ever known. When I lost my Dad in 1976 he and other teachers at Slaybaugh came to pay their respects. Whenever there was a fire in the woods behind us in Scullville my Mom would make coffee for all the firefighters and police. I moved away after high school and saw Fred once while back in town for a visit. He greeted me with a hug and that megawatt smile as if it had only been a short time since we last saw each other. He was a kind man and my life is better having known him. God Bless to his wife and family.
