Louise Virginia Walker, a 40 year resident of Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey passed away peacefully on June 21, 2017, at the Gilchirst Hospice Center in Towson, Maryland. Louise was born on May 18, 1925, in Rutherfordton County, North Carolina and she was the eldest daughter of the late George E. Miller and Loveter Mosley Miller. She graduated from the Rutherfordton County School System and attended North Carolina A&T State University before moving to New York and meeting her deceased husband, Roosevelt Walker. Louise retired from Becton Dickerson and Spencer Gifts as a sales associate.

She was an avid reader and would often clip articles from newspapers and magazines and forward the information to family members to read. Earlier in life, she enjoyed participating in ballroom dancing with her husband and listening to jazz music. After moving to Egg Harbor Township, Louise reconnected with her Christian upbringing and joined Cardiff Baptist Church where she enjoyed the fellowship shared with her church family.

She is predeceased by four siblings, George Miller, Jr. (Rutherfordton County, North Carolina), Robert Miller (Buffalo, New York), Jimmie Miller (Rutherfordton County, North Carolina) and Lovie Miller (Rutherfordton County, North Carolina).

Louise is survived by one brother, Henry Miller and his wife Julia of Newark, New Jersey; five sisters, Rose Miller of East Orange, New Jersey, Lois Dickey of East Orange, New Jersey, Pauline Smith of Overlea, Maryland, Joyce Doggett of Parkville, Maryland and Erlene Miller of Forest Hills, Maryland; along with many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews and other family and friends that have been blessed to be a part of her journey. She touched the lives of many with her wit, smile and gentle soft-spoken manner.

Services for Louise will be held at 11 am, on June 29, 2017 at Cardiff Baptist Church 6523 West Jersey Ave, Egg Harbor Township, NJ, with a viewing from 10 am to 11 am. A viewing will also be held on June 30, 2017 from 6:00pm until 8pm at Ulysses D. Miller Funeral Services in Rutherfordton County, North Carolina. A graveside service and interment will be at 11 am, on Saturday, July1, 2017 at the Doggett’s Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations in her memory be made to the Cardiff Baptist Church or Gilchrist Hospice Care, Inc. 11311 McCormick Road, Siute 350 Hunt Valley, Maryland 21031. Arrangements entrusted to and condolences for the family may be left at Adams-Perfect.com
