Obituary for Joseph E. Polhamus Jr.

Polhamus, Joseph E., “Joe” - 73 of Linwood, passed away peacefully Monday, September 4, 2017 at Spring Village in Galloway with his family by his side.

Born in Vineland, he graduated from Vineland High School Class of 1963 and graduated from New York Community College of Applied Arts and Sciences with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. Joe served in the army during the Viet Nam war and was stationed in Korea where he ran the Commanding General’s Mess. After working for various food service companies, Joe worked for Ireland Coffee / Sara Lee Corp. for 28 years. He loved to travel, enjoyed the hobby of "Cowboy Action Shooting”, and most of all spending time with family.

Joe is predeceased by his parents, Joseph Sr. and Ruth (nee Behler) Polhamus. Surviving are his loving wife of 28 years, Beth (nee Jourdet) Polhamus; daughter Mia Polhamus Baik; son Bill Albright (Blair); brothers Dan Polhamus (Irene), and John Polhamus (Nancy); sisters Val Polhamus, and Ann Swain (Ken); five grandchildren: Ashley, Keegan & Dawson Albright, Kristof Baik, and Mallory Baston; nieces: Jessica and Melanie Swain, and Emily Polhamus; and nephew Andy Polhamus. Also very special in laws in his life, Linda and Ken Davis and Buzz and Gale Jourdet.

A memorial service to celebrate Joe’s life will be held on Friday, September 15th at Central Methodist Church, 5 Marvin Avenue, Linwood. A visitation will be from 11:00am, with the services following at noon. Burial will be private.

The Polhamus and Albright families are deeply appreciative of our extended family at Spring Village at Galloway and Grace Hospice for their loving care and support.
