Obituary for Marceline J Palmer

Mrs. Marceline Janet Palmer (Peaches) – Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, married at a young age, shortly thereafter relocated to Chester,

Pennsylvania as a young woman. After purchasing a summer home in Atlantic City, NJ in the late 1960’s she decided to make Atlantic City home for herself and

five children – Lisa, Landis, Darren, Marceline E. (Miss Fox), and Gary. This was a challenging task for her - moving to a new town not knowing anyone.

Nevertheless she wanted a better quality of life for her five children and herself. Being an astute business woman, she immediately began renting rooms and

apartments in the property she purchased. She was employed at Lincoln Oil Company in Atlantic City as an Office Manager and bookkeeper and later at Hamid

Enterprises as a telemarketer. She felt her biggest accomplishment was fulfilling her dream of becoming a mother and successfully raising five accomplished children-

never having to go to a police precinct or visit a jail cell on their behalf. All of whom she was proud to say contributes positively to society. At 88 she

retired from raising children but continued to exercise her love and care for animals needing a home,, including her Maltese “Flip” and cat “Meow.

She has 6 grandchildren; Camille, Desiree, Noah, Marian, Marcus and Jace. She was an avid reader, had a flare for clothing, style and decorating. She enjoyed gardening and won a Hydrangea Trail award to show for it.

She further enjoyed shopping, flea markets, collecting vintage items, dining at various buffets and eating chocolate. Mrs. Marceline became a member and was

baptized at New Shiloh Baptist Church in 2005, where she began serving on the Floral Ministry & later the Greeters Ministry. One of her favorite songs was “This

Little Light of Mine.”
