Noten, Mercedes, "Mrs. Bob"- age 81 of Marco Island, Florida, formerly of Egg Harbor Township, passed away on Tuesday, October 10th, 2017 surrounded by family.

Mercedes, or as most people knew her, "Mrs. Bob, was owner and co-founder of Bob's Garden Center in Egg Harbor Township. She was born in NYC on May 27th, 1936 and moved to Weekstown while in grammar school. She attended Hammonton High School.

Mercedes was always a go getter and had many jobs throughout her life, whether it was picking blueberries, or working at farm markets, or her days as a waitress in NYC and at Zaberer's, she was always a valuable employee because she was such a hard worker.

Overcoming many obstacles, she and her husband Robert started Bob's as a small roadside fruit stand and grew it into the successful business it is today. She loved working and being the boss, and her passion for her business shined through with her enthusiasm.

Her greatest legacy is all the lives she touched, whether it was the generations of employees that she trained, or the countless customers that she loved to help, or the many friends she made through the years, they will all remember her zest for life, outgoing personality and amazing work ethic. Mrs. Bob always said she lived a great life doing what she loved everyday. We take great comfort knowing she left this life happy and content. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Mercedes was predeceased by her husband of over 60 years, Robert Noten; and her grandson, Andrew Noten Hudson. She is survived by her daughters, Sandy Noten Heuman (Ricki) and Jackie Noten Hudson (Neil); grandsons Lucas (Katherine) and Ricki (Nicola) Heuman and Tyler Hudson; great grandchildren, Angelina, Julia, Robert, and Lucas Heuman.

Services will be private.

Donations in her memory can be made to the Cancer Center at CHOP: Andrew Noten Hudson Foundation at CHOP.
