Obituary for Donald Ross Kellerman
Donald Ross Kellerman, 85, born in 1932 to William and Frances Kellerman, he was raised in Atlantic City, NJ. Following his 1951 graduation from Atlantic City High School, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was stationed at the Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, Georgia and Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Colorado during the Korean War where he rose to the rank of Sergeant and became proficient in radar and armaments. He was Honorably Discharged in 1956. Donald married his wife, Anne Marie (nee Van Dyke), in 1957, raising a family while residing for 54 years on Shepherd Circle in Northfield. He was a former Branch Manager of Duell Fuel in Pleasantville, NJ and later was Manager of Customer Service/ Accounts at Pedroni Fuel in Vineland, NJ until his retirement in 1997. He was a long-time member of the American Legion and was a 45 year member of Linwood Community Church where he sang tenor for many years in the church choir. In his earlier years he was a member of Chelsea Baptist Church in Atlantic City where he came to know the Lord. Donald had masterful knowledge of local history, plants and animals.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Anne Marie; and three children, son Donald Van Dyke Kellerman and his wife, Sandra of Somers Point, NJ, daughter, Lynn Ann Kellerman of Northfield, and daughter, Lois Kellerman Foley and her husband, Patrick of Kendall Park. He was also a loving Pop Pop (aka "Poppy") to seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Friends may call on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 10am til 11:30am at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home 1650 New Road, Northfield, NJ 08225. A funeral service will immediately follow. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Pleasantville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Atlantic City Rescue Mission, 2009 Bacharach Blvd, Atlantic City, NJ 08401.
