Obituary for Benjamin W Hill

Benjamin W Hill
Hill, Benjamin William, Sr. - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Benjamin William Hill Sr. on October 27, 2017.

Ben married the love of his life, Lucinda Willis, in January 1947. Ben was the ultimate husband and father. He had an honest compassion for people and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Ben was a very devoted man of God and loved his Sunday praise at Salem United Methodist Church.

He was predeceased by his wife, Lucinda Willis Hill; his mother, Eva Lena Holmes (who passed away during his youth); and Molly Hill, whom he loved and cherished very much; his father, Campbell Lee Hill; brothers John Lee Hill and Thomas Hill; sisters Poly Hill, Martha Hill Cheeks, Darius Hill Hackle, Catherine Hill and Elizabeth Hill Harvey. He is survived by his brother, James Campbell Hill; sons Benjamin Hill, Jr and wife Kyong, Dr. Robert Earle Hill and wife Joan Manning-Hill, Dr. Winnie O. Willis, who was raised by Ben and Lucinda as guardians since birth, and husband Edward Barber; grandchildren Nichole Hill, Shannon Barber, Crystal and Michael Hill; two other grandsons, Michael and Jamison; nine great grandchildren; his special niece, Aleatha Montague; cousins, nephews, nieces and many other family members. We are truly blessed to have shared this precious time with him.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 1st, at Salem United Methodist Church, 815 S. Main St., Pleasantville, with the viewing starting 9 AM and Church service beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be held at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery in Estell Manor. Repast will be at the Salem Methodist Church.
