Obituary for Mark D. West

Mark D.  West
On October 25, 2017 Mark West, a lifelong resident of Northfield and beloved brother, uncle and friend passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness at the age of 58.

He was an alumnus of Holy Spirit High School and Atlantic Cape Community College.

Known as “Uncle Mark” by far more than just his niece and nephews, his enduring dedication to those around him ranged from giving friends a ride to work all the way to visiting and maintaining the grave sites of his beloved mother and sister. His unwavering kindness and steadfast friendship was something that could be relied upon in the toughest of times, which made him an indispensable figure for many of his friends and family.

Mark is predeceased by his mother Betty (Robert) Dawson, his father Walter A. West, his brother Michael West, his sister Mary Beth Wilson, his brother-in-law Bill Petrino and his niece Erin West. Mark will forever be remembered by his sister Denise Petrino, his brother Tom (Gail) West and his brother Walter (Jan) West, Tom Dawson, Linda Dawson-Gajewski, Joe Dawson and Cheryl Dawson. The nieces and nephews that were a big part of his life include Jim, Laura (Dustin, Michael, Nicholas) Petrino, Dawnmarie, Ron (Luca) Gabriele, Anthony, Bridgette (Alexandra, Genevieve, Lillianna) Petrino, Kari, Bryan (Lexi Konrad) Tochterman, Thomas and Matthew West, Steven West and Michael Wilson Jr.

Mark had many pastimes including cheering on the Red Sox, Phillies and Eagles. He golfed with friends and loved music including playing the guitar, seeing concerts and winning games of music trivia. His joy was spending days fishing on Pelican Pier in Marco Island and the Keeper Back in Margate, New Jersey.

Visitation will be on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 10:30 am followed by mass at 11:30 am at St Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church 606 Shore Road, Somers Point, NJ 08244. Internment will be private. Arrangements entrusted to and condolences may be left for the family at adams-perfect.com.
