Wilkes, Willie C. Sr., 87, of Pleasantville passed away on November 7, 2017.

Born on September 30, 1930 in Macon, GA to the late Troy and Leila (nee Harvey) Wilkes. The family moved from Macon, GA to Bayonne, NJ where he lived for many years, before moving to Pleasantville. He was a successful business man and mechanic operating Smitty’s Auto Repair in Bayonne, NJ, until his retirement. He was a loving husband, father, and pop pop, and will be missed by all.

Predeceased by Wife of Rita G. Wilkes; his first wife, Dorothy Wilkes; and son, Daniel Wilkes. He is survived by his children, Monica R Macon, Willie C. Wilkes, Jr., David Wilkes, Neoli A Wilkes, Keecia C Wilkes, Thomas J. Laigaie, Michael D. Laigaie, Christopher J. Wilkes, and Nicole Wilkes; two sons; Grandchildren, Harry Macon, Randy Parker, Frank Gulli, Kamau J Wilkes, David D Wilkes, Caleb J Wilkes, and Tabitha A Wilkes; great-grandchildren, Zamirah, Frank Gulli, Daniel Gulli, Aiden and Jaylen Parker, Jayce and Kali Wilkes; two god-daughters, Melinda and Alaina Gould; brother, John Wilkes and his wife Leona; sisters, Jessie, Gwendolyn, and Geraldine; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; and his adopted sons Brian Jones and William Johnson.

A service will be held at 11 am, on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at Graves Temple COGIC, 123 Church Street, Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234. A Gathering a family and friends will be from 10 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing, NJ.
