Steven M.  Metz
Metz, Steven – 63, of Northfield, passed away suddenly on December 4th, 2017.

Born in Atlantic City, grew up in Linwood acquiring many friends. Active in sports and antics, especially with best friend, George Helfrich. He excelled at many sports and enjoyed playing many pranks on his friends and neighbors. MRHS Class of 1972, and went on to become a legend on the softball field. Employment highlights include Lenox Inc., creator of the Starlight Lounge, long career at Caesars winning employee awards. Volunteering in the community for Special Olympics, ARC, Northfield Community School Board, coaching daughter’s sports teams, Northfield parades. Steve loved spending time with family and friends on the Longport beach. Avid Eagles and Phillies fan.

Enjoyed cold ones with friends, golfing, perfecting his lawn, memorable barbecues and Harley Davidson’s. Incredible father, brother, son and friend. Had an infectious laugh, told the best stories and genuinely cared for others. This special man will be incredibly missed by all.

Survived by daughter Stephanie; mother Connie; siblings Linda (Wayne), Billy, Chrissy (Dan); nieces/nephews Wayne (Jenna), Scott, Kelly, Jessica, Nina, Juli, Averie; step-mother Loretta; girlfriend Janet Knight. Preceded by father, William Metz; grandmother June Dalton; and his Labradors.

A viewing will be held on Friday, December 8th, from 5-8pm at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield, and again on Saturday, December 9th from 10-11am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 724 Maple Avenue, Linwood. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11am. Interment will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing.
