Brown, Alvin "Al" Richard, 72, of Northfield, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018. Al honorably served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded a bronze star and a purple heart, continued his service in the Army Reserves, retiring in 2005 as a Master Sergeant. He worked as a letter carrier for the Northfield Post Office for 20 years. He was an active member of Apostles' Doctrine Church of Mays Landing. Al had a passion for golf and enjoyed playing as often as possible.

He was predeceased by his son, John "Jack" Brown. Al is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Marie Brown; his children, Diane (Dan) Michelotti, Rich (Michele) Brown, Dawn Brown, and Adam (Anne) Brown; grandchildren, Danielle and Rebecca Michelotti, and Cecilia and Amanda Brown.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 1 pm to 2 pm, on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Rd, in Northfield. A service will follow at 2 pm. Burial with military honors will follow at Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, in Estell Manor. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Apostles' Doctrine Chruch, 6323 Estell Ave, Mays Landing, NJ 08330.
