Obituary for John B. "Sean" Donnelly III

Donnelly, John Bernard III 'Sean", 82 of Northfield, passed away peacefully at Shore Medical Center with his family by his side.

Born January 3, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA, he attended Disston Elementary school, and graduated from Jules E. Mastbaum Vocational Technical School in 1954. Following his school years, he enlisted in the US Army from 1955-1961, serving in the Korean War.

During his early years, John traveled and worked as a ski instructor. John then moved to this area and eventually became part owner of the legendary Maloney's in Margate. Being a lifelong golfer as well, he found his calling as the general manager of Mays Landing Country Club, where he worked until retirement. During his retirement he most enjoyed time with his daughters and grandchildren.

John was predeceased by his father, John B., Jr.; his mother, Mary E. (nee Tompkins); his brother, Ronald; his sister, Nancy; and his loving wife Susan Lynn (nee Burns). He is survived by his daughters, Kelli Hagen (Nils) of Northfield, Kasey Stetser (Ryan) of Galloway, Kristen Feriozzi (Paul, Jr.) of Northfield, and Kerri Gunnison (Fredrik) of Northfield. He is also survived by his sister, Dolores Smith (nee Donnelly); his grandchildren: Lily Gramlich of Northfield, Daniel and Casey Stetser of Galloway, and Sean Kelly of Northfield. He also leaves behind many beloved friends and family.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 17th at 11:00am at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, 109 Blvd. Rt. 50, Mays Landing.
