Edward J.  Borkowski
Borkowski, Edward J., 91, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Meadowview Nursing Home in Northfield where he resided for the last 12 years. Born and lived in Jersey City, before moving in 2005 with his late wife Jean to Northfield. He was a World War II veteran, proudly serving in the US Navy as a Gunners Mate Third Class. As a result of his service, Edward was awarded the European Theatre Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Medal, American Theatre Medal and the Victory Medal. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy, he returned to Jersey City and worked as a purchasing agent for Sack-Sons Carton Co.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Jean. Edward is survived by his son John E. Borkowski Sr. and his wife Donna, of Egg Harbor Township; granddaughter, Maryetta Borkowski; and grandson, John E. Borkowski Jr. and his wife Lindsey and their three children, John Edward III, Emmy and Bennett.

He attended Jersey City Public schools and Ferris High School. He spent many good times during his early years being active in Little League Baseball as a coach and also President of the Downtown Little League in Jersey City.

He loved his New York Football Giants and New York Mets attending many games in Giants and Shea Stadiums with his son. Edward also enjoyed spending time making special times with his beloved family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am, on Friday, May 12, 2017, at St. Gianna Beretta Molla Parish, 1421 New Rd, Northfield. A viewing will be held from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, at the church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing, NJ.
