Weeks, Bernita (nee Celona), 100, formerly of Pleasantville and Northfield, residing at Our Lady’s Residence in Pleasantville, passed away December 6th.

Bernita Weeks was born in Pleasantville and lived there until 1977 when she moved to Northfield. Bernita was a parishioner at St. Bernadette Church and sang in the choir there for 25 years. Bernita graduated from Pleasantville H.S. class of 1935.

She was predeceased by her husband, Walter “Bill” Weeks Sr.; her parents, Catherine and Charles Celona; and siblings Steven (infant), Josephine Jones, Mary Heckroth and Joseph Celona. Bernita is survived by her sister, Jenny Heath; her three sons, Walter (Rita), Charles (Debbie) and Joseph (MaryEllen); seven grandchildren: William, Walter III, Michael, Christen, Charles Jr., Adrien and Jessica; and ten great grandchildren: Emily, Natalie, Jacob, Sophia, Sammy, Luke, Blake, Brady, Owen and Finn.

The family would like to thank the nurses, aides, and the entire staff at Our Lady's Residence Center for the excellent care they provided her.

A mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday Dec. 12th at 11:00 AM at St. Gianna Beretta Molla Parish/St. Bernadette Church, at 1421 New Rd., Northfield where family and friends may visit at 10:00 AM. Burial services will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing.
