Clark, Edward “Eddie” R. (W2KP) passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2015 due to complications of congestive heart failure at the young age of 67.

He was born February 22, 1948 to Elaine and Raymond J. Clark in Atlantic City, NJ. A lifelong resident of Northfield, NJ and graduate of Mainland Regional HS, he later earned an Associates in Electrical Engineering from Spring Garden Institute in Philadelphia, PA. After College, Eddie joined the US Naval Reserve in 1968 as a Cryptologic Technician, spending time in Japan during the Vietnam War. He returned home to meet and later marry then Brenda Schlosser of Rydal, PA in May 1973. Eddie retired from the Reserves in 1990 after 22yrs of service. He was an engineer with Bell Atlantic, later Verizon, where he retired with over 30yrs service. He loved volunteering his time and skills as an Amateur Radio Operator since his late teens. He has mentored many operators young and old. Eddie was presented by Atlantic County Emergency Services Executives an award for Meritorious Service as an Amateur Radio Operator during the June 30, 2012 Derechio. Aside from amateur radio, Eddie was an avid firearms enthusiast, cyclist (in his younger years), assisted with the restoration of the Battleship New Jersey (of which his Father helped build), and various other events volunteering his time and expertise in communications.

Eddie was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda in 1993 after a long battle with breast cancer. He is also preceded by his father, Raymond J. Clark; mother Elaine C. Price; and nephew Raymond Doerr. He is survived by his daughter, Amy Higgs (USAF Veteran) and her husband Tim; granddaughter Corinne R. Vincent; sister Marlene Doerr; brother Raymond Clark, Jr. and his wife Regina; brother Lawrence Clark; nephew Allan Doerr and his wife Kathy; nephew Robby Doerr and his Wife Judy; Niece Lynn Matthews and her Husband Paul; Niece Anna Asselta; his Mother’s Sister Dorothea Hoffner and her husband Edward; and cousins too numerous to list.

Eddie was a member of S.C.A.R.A., The NJ Battleship, Old Barney, The N.R.A., Atlantic County Emergency Management, A.R.R.L., and the Hutton Hill Rifle & Revolver Gun Club.

Friends and family are invited to Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield, for a viewing on Sunday, August 30th from 6pm-8pm, and again Monday, August 31st from 10am-11am, with a funeral service starting at 11am. Interment will be immediately after with a brief graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery in Pleasantville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Autism Society of America, 4340 East West Hwy, Suite 350, Bethesda, MD 20814.

Eddie leaves behind a great legacy, one we all hope to carry on in his memory the best we know how.
