Long, Eugene Richard “Rich," 79, of West Atlantic City, NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 28, 2016. Born on September 26, 1937 in Camden, NJ, son of the late Eugene P. and Helen A. Long and brother to the late David A. Long; formally lived in Northfield, NJ and Voorhees, NJ, settling in West Atlantic City, NJ for the last 15 years.

Rich proudly served in the U.S. Army before owning and operating Seaboard Equipment Corp. in Atlantic City, NJ for over 25 years. On a daily basis, his upbeat personality and generous affection, found by all that he came into contact with, exemplified his compassionate and caring nature. Next to spending time with family and friends, Rich enjoyed numerous hobbies that included owning race horses, fishing, boating, enjoying palm trees in the Florida sun, and casino entertainment.

He will be dearly missed and survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Geraldine Long, nee Devinney; their two sons Daniel (Jennifer) Long of Mt Laurel, NJ and Robert Long of Maple Shade, NJ; grandchildren Angela, Sarah, Kyle, Robert, and Hayleigh and great-grandson Josh. He is also survived by Jeff (Kim) Long of Montville, NJ; Dino (Leslie) Long of Jacksonville, FL; four grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-laws Margaret (wife of David A.) Long of Galloway, NJ, Kathleen (Harold) Becker of Annandale, VA, Jacqualeen (Glen) Weeks of Northfield, NJ, and Marceen (Don Griffith) Conover of Pleasantville, NJ, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers and expressions of sympathy, the family requests a small kindness be offered to a stranger in memory of Rich. Arrangements are private and entrusted to Adams-Perfect of Northfield.
