Obituary for Barbara Ann Mazzeo (Valentinsen)
Mazzeo, Barbara Ann (nee Valentinsen), 73 of Galloway, formerly of Northfield, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, January 19th.
Barbara was born in Atlantic City, raised in Ventnor, and was a longtime resident of Northfield. A graduate of Atlantic City High School, Barbara was an avid reader and the most talented sewer. She enjoyed bird watching in her garden, but especially loved spending time with her beloved grandsons and her family.
She was predeceased by her parents, Gerhard and Ruth Valentinsen. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, John C. Mazzeo; her three daughters: Maria Hamill (Daniel), Barbara Mazzeo, and Joanna Magee (John); her grandsons: Ethan, Patrick, James, Joseph, Jack, and Owen; and her four siblings: Ruth Advena, and Geary, William, and Robert Valentinsen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 26th at 10:00am at St. Gianna Beretta Molla Parish, 1421 New Road, Northfield. A visitation will be held from 9:30am until the time of Mass. Burial will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara's memory to either the American Red Cross, PO Box 37839, Boone, IA 50037 or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
