Obituary for Peter M. Guenther

Peter M. Guenther
Guenther, Peter Michael, 38 passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at his home in Gloucester County, NJ. He was born February 7, 1979 in Somers Point. He attended Pleasantville grade schools and graduated from Cimarron-Memorial High School in Las Vegas, NV.

His passion for the food and beverage industry led him to work in some of the top restaurants in the area, most recently Cafe Aldo Lambertii in Washington Twp., but he also dedicated himself to training for (and successfully competing in) Mixed Martial Arts. Along with training and competing, he loved sharing his wealth of knowledge by mentoring others in both MMA and physical fitness in general. He was an active member of the North American Grappling Association.

Pete was a unique soul with an infectious smile and boyish charm, who was his best not only "on the mats" but, more importantly, in his role as a father to his son. He will be greatly missed.

Pete is survived by his beloved son, Peter Guenther, Jr.; his parents, Peter Fernandez (Martha) and Joann Guenther; his siblings: Corey (CJ) Guenther, Tanya, Juanita, and Janelle Vargas, Christen, Jessi and Trish Andrews, and Engel Holguin; his grandparents, Peter Fernandez, Sr, the late Margie Irwin-Fernandez, the late James Guenther, and the late Joetta Southery; his aunts, the late Sharon Guenther, Vickie Guenther-Piperato (Bob), Betty Guenther (Kevin), Rita Fernandez-Peterson (the late Donny), Jen Fernandez-Carland (Joe), and the late Margaret Fernandez (#724); his uncles, Skip Downs (Terri), Frank Guenther (Kristen), Jeff Guenther (Robin), Steve Fernandez (Darlene), Rick Fernandez (Blanche), and Ray Fernandez. Also, numerous cousins, and countless friends, all of whom he considered to be his brothers and sisters.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 18th at 12:00pm at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield. A viewing will be held from 10:00am until the time of the service. The family respectfully requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to "Stop The Heroin", either at their website: www.stoptheheroin.org or via check to: Stop The Heroin, 6672 Black Horse Pike, Unit 16, Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234.
