Yankuskie, Barbara Jean, (NEE Lear), 76 of Northfield passed away peacefully on March 18, 2010. Born September 9, 1933, raised in Pleasantville, and settling in Northfield . Barbara volunteered at Shore Memorial Hospital for several years, loved to sew and bake, work in the yard, ride the bike path. Barb and her husband Ed enjoyed many years of square and round dancing. Foremost, Barbara will be remembered for her dedication to the children of Northfield, serving as a crossing guard for the city for 38 years. Survived by her loving husband Edward of 59 years, daughter Donna (Cliff) Melder of Mays Landing, three grandchildren Chelsi (Brian) Crompton, Logan and Clifford Melder of Mays Landing. Barbara is survived by two sisters, Doris Ney of Mays Landing, and Marjorie Collins of Northfield and sister in law, Hilda Lear. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 11:00 am at Adams-Perfect Funeral Homes, Inc., 1650 New Road, Northfield. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Adams-Perfect Funeral Homes, Inc., 1650 New Road, Northfield, NJ.
Interment will be in Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, Estell Manor
