Yon, Essie “MeMe” of Egg Harbor Township, was called home to be with the Lord on August 21, 2010. She was born to the late William and Willie Ruth Whitehead in South Hampton County, Virginia. Essie is survived by her children, Yvonne Brown and Anthony Yon; son-in-law, Johnny Brown; grandchildren Ji’on, (husband Kenyda Crump), Charmah Brown, and Aaliyah Yon; great granddaughter, Ahmirah Crump; and siblings, Paul Whitehead, Lillie Gray and Tommie Whitehead. A Viewing will be held at Faith Baptist Church, 829 Tilton Road, in Pleasantville on August 26, 2010 from 9-11am with a Funeral Service beginning at 11am. Interment will be held at Laurel Memorial Park in Pomona.
