Francis D Sheridan, 94 of Egg Harbor Township, passed away peacefully at home. After graduating from Manhattan College in 1946, Francis enjoyed a long successful career as a Civil Engineer engaged in high-rise building construction in New Jersey, Philadelphia, and New York. After retirement he not only kept active in the industry by being self-employed, he continued his participation in community and church activities. He was active with the Red Cross, volunteered at Shore Memorial Hospital, was an EMT with Somers Point Rescue, was a member of St. Gianna Beretta Molla Parish Church, and the Legion of Mary. In addition to those endeavors he derived great joy from his lifelong hobby as a model train collector/enthusiast. He was at his proudest showing off his in-home train complex built by Jim Lincoln and other good friends from a local train club.

His wife of 66 years, Clara predeceased him in 2012. He is survived by his daughter, Clara C. Sheridan; his son, Francis D. Sheridan Jr, his wife Rhoda and her two sons: Timothy and Daniel; and her two grandchildren. He is also survived by his dearly loved companion, Iris Bellarosa.

A visitation will be held at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield, NJ 08225 from 3:00-5:00 PM on Tuesday, October 24th. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Gianna Beretta Molla Parish, 1421 New Road, Northfield, NJ 08225 at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 25, 2017. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Yonkers, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Missionaries of The Sacred Heart, P.O. 189, Linwood, NJ 08221.
