Obituary for Olivia H. Holland (Hopkins)

Olivia H. Holland was born in Atlantic City, NJ and made her transition on May 7, 2017 in Baltimore County, MD.

Olivia was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd Holland; parents, John & Hattie Hopkins; sister, Sandra and brother, John.

Olivia graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1960 and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Stockton State College in 1982.
Olivia was a founding staff member of Stockton State College when it first opened in 1971 at the Mayflower Hotel on the boardwalk in Atlantic City, NJ. After receiving her degree, Olivia obtained positions at the Atlantic City Press of South Jersey newspaper, the Showboat Hotel and Casino, and retired as a caseworker for Atlantic County Social Services. She was a deaconess at Grace Assembly of God Church in Atlantic City.

Olivia is survived by her sons, Lloyd R. Holland, Jr. (Tracy) of New York City and Michael Holland (Rochelle) and two grandsons, Parris Michael and Roman Michael of Parkville, Maryland; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her funeral will be on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at the Grace Assembly of God in Atlantic City.
