Obituary for Lois Ann Quinn (Taney)

Lois Ann  Quinn (Taney)
LOIS ANN QUINN (nee Taney) 7/6/1929-9/16/2011.

Beloved wife of John W. Quinn, Jr.; Beloved mother of John W., III (Ann), Patricia A., and Robert M. (Tai) Quinn.

Survived by three granddaughters, Sarah Beth Alberts (Dave), Rebecca Lynn Partesi (Steve) and Katie Quinn; One sister, Aileen Hendrickson (Harr) of Naples, FL. Pre-deceased by her mother and father, Emma and Howard Taney, and her brother, Leonard Taney.

She was born in Rutland, Vermont on July 6, 1929, and moved to the Philadelphia area with her family when she was 3 years old. She graduated from Roxborough High School and was employed at Pepper Hamilton and Sheetz Law Firm as a secretary.

After meeting on a blind date, she married Jack Quinn in 1951 and moved to Collingdale, PA. She was a homemaker and raised three children. For a brief time she was employed as a dental assistant.

In 1980, she purchased her family home in Woodlyn, PA (built by her grandfather in 1900) and she and Jack renovated the house during the next 10 years. In 1991 she moved to N. Wildwood, NJ and spent many wonderful summers enjoying family and friends at the beach, especially her three beautiful granddaughters who were her pride and joy!
In 2005 she left the Jersey shore and had a new home built in Ocean View, DE. She spent the last five years furnishing and decorating her new home. Her many hobbies included memberships in her neighborhood book club and the Women’s Club of Bethany Beach, DE. She enjoyed arts and crafts and proudly displayed her work throughout her homes. She loved to travel and enjoyed trips with her family to London, Paris, Switzerland and most recently Ireland.

A memorial service to honor her life will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 beginning at 11:00 AM at Adams- Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield, NJ 08225.

A luncheon will follow the service beginning at 1:00 PM at Ventura’s Offshore Café, 2015 Shore Road, Northfield, NJ, 08225
